Emily in the Sunshine - 1995
Limited Edition 1/100 available 18.4 X 14.4 inches
Observation of the patterns of light and shadow: In Netherhall Gardens, a largely dark ground floor flat she lived in for some 41 years, the afternoon sunlight would stream across a round oak table at a certain time of year creating beautiful intensely coloured shadows and light. This relief of light and colour in darkness inspired a whole series of paintings throughout the nineties. This one depicts her youngest daughter Emily.
