Portrait of a Teenage Daughter - 1988
Limited Edition 1/100 available 14.5 X 18.2 inches
Observation of the patterns of light and shadow: In Netherhall Gardens, a largely dark ground floor flat she lived in for some 41 years, the afternoon sunlight would stream through the window across the sofa on the opposite side of the room at a certain time of year creating beautiful intensely coloured shadows and light. This relief of light and colour in darkness inspired a whole series of paintings throughout the eighties and nineties. This one depicts her youngest daughter Emily as a teenager.
